The balanced acid-base balance in the organism forms the basis of human health. If the balance is disturbed, serious health problems threaten. While acute hyperacidity is rather an exception, large parts of the world population, especially in the industrial countries, suffer from chronic hyperacidity of the entire organism.

In a latent process, acids are stored in the body and vital minerals are removed from the organs. The symptoms of chronic hyperacidity are mostly unspecific, making diagnosis difficult.

Treatment, on the other hand, is comparatively simple. The path to a healthy acid-base balance and therefore to more vitality leads through a alkaline cure.

The base powder from Herba Sale is the basic building block of any base treatment and is therefore indispensable for the deacidification of the organism.

Acid-base balance - the balance of life

Our body is a complex system that is ideally balanced. One of the vital elements of this system is the acid-base balance, i.e. a balance between the acids and bases in the organism.

Each organ and region of the body has a special relationship between acids and bases. This ratio is indicated by the pH value, which is between 0 and 14 on a scale. An acidic environment has a pH between 0 and 6.5. pH 7 indicates a neutral environment, in the range from 6.5 to 7.5 the environment is acidic to alkaline (basic), in the upper range of the scale with pH between 7.5 and 14 the environment is alkaline.

The following pH values are typical for body fluids:

  •     Blood 7,35 - 7,45
  •     Gastric acid 1 - 2
  •     Small intestine 6.5 - 8
  •     Saliva 7,0
  •     Urine: in the morning 6,2 - 6,8, in the evening 6,8 - 7,4
  •     Connective tissue 7.1 - 7.2
  •     Joint fluid Synovia 7 - 8.

There is therefore no uniform "ideal value" and in each body region the natural acid-base balance is different, whereby most body fluids are slightly alkaline. The natural balance between bases and acids in our body is often destroyed, which has an extremely negative effect on our general state of health.

Acidosis of the body - one of the biggest health risks of our time

Most people in Western industrialized countries suffer from chronic acidosis. This problem is still played down too often, if not completely ignored, by orthodox medicine. Only the - rather rare - disturbances in the acid-base balance of the blood, acidosis, are discussed.

The investigations and tests of the pH-value of body fluids show urgently: As a rule our body is overacidified, the pH-value is on a too low level. The problem: While a change in the pH value in the blood of only one percentage point leads to serious metabolic disorders and rapid deterioration of the state of health, the body reacts less sensitively and more slowly to excessive acidity in other regions. This is by no means to say that hyperacidity does not pose any health risks. What is more, an excess of acids and, as a result, a disturbance of the acid-base balance causes serious, sometimes irreparable damage in the long term. In the meantime, acidosis has become one of the most important health risks.

Note: Acidosis in the sense of alternative practitioners and therapists must be strictly distinguished from acidosis. Acidosis means the lowering of the pH value in the blood and thus an acute danger to life. Acidosis of the organism affects all parts of the body and is chronic.

Mechanisms of development and causes of hyperacidity

In the course of the metabolism of food, the burning of fats and the splitting of proteins, acids and bases are produced, among other things. The excess of acids is neutralized by the bases, and water and salts fall off as products of this chemical reaction. In order to maintain a balance between bases and acids, our organism has flexible buffer mechanisms. These buffer mechanisms are conjugated acid-base pairs, either with a strong acid or with a strong base.

Minerals and microelements, especially potassium, calcium, sodium, zinc, magnesium and silicon, play an important role in these extremely complex buffer systems. The oxides of these minerals are potent bases that neutralize excess acids. If these elements are missing or if the body is undersupplied with these minerals, the buffer systems can no longer function properly.

In the ideal case, the buffers fully fulfil their function and neutralize all excess acids. However, today these natural mechanisms threaten to fail more and more frequently. There are three main causes for this:

1) Problematic, unhealthy nutrition: The diet of an average European is relatively full of too many so-called acid formers. This is the name given to foods whose consumption leads to the excessive formation of acids in the organism.
Another cause of excessive acid formation is unfavourable environmental conditions, including air pollution.
3. stress, which is unfortunately part of the life of people in industrialised countries, is also one of the causes of hyperacidity.

In order to neutralize the acids, the body uses all its buffer reserves. However, these reserves are not sufficient in the long run to reduce the excess of acids.
At first, the organism becomes less alkaline, and over time a chronic acidosis develops. The human body can no longer restore balance by itself. Our body urgently needs help.

Test strips can be used to quickly determine whether your body is really overacidified. The strips indicate the pH value of the urine. Tip: The urine test should be carried out several days apart and at different times of the day. Please note above our information about the natural fluctuations of the pH value in the urine!

Acidifiers - these foods are "responsible" for the acidification.

There are a number of food products whose metabolism leads to an excessively high release of acids. These foods are called acidifiers by therapists. Interesting: The taste of the food does not matter, so for example a sour lemon is not an acid generator!

The PRAL value shows us whether the food is an acid or a base forming agent. The abbreviation PRAL stands for "potential renal acid load", which translates as "potential acid load of the kidneys". The PRAL is measured in milliequivalent (mEq) per 100 g. Foods with a positive value are acid formers, with a negative value of ? base formers. The higher the value, the stronger the corresponding load.

The PRAL value indicates that above all animal products such as meat, sausage, cheese and milk are strong acid formers. This value is 19 mEq/100 g for minced beef, about 14 mEq/100 g for veal, 15 mEq/100 g on average for pork and between 10 mEq/100 g and 15 mEq/100 g for poultry. This value is considerably higher for egg yolk ? approx. 25 mEq/100 g. The PRAL value of soft cheese is just as high, reaching up to 27 mEq/100 g for processed cheese. With a value of 0.25 mEq/100 g, milk belongs to the rather weak acid formers. Despite all prejudices, sugar, too, proves to be not an acid, but a base forming agent (PRAL value -0.6 mEq/100 g).

The PRAL value of foods of vegetable origin, on the other hand, is almost always negative: these foods are predominantly base formers. At -11 mEq/100 g, leafy vegetables are one of the best alkaline foods in the world, regardless of how they are prepared. With a PRAL value of -87 mEq/100 g, the artichoke is a real frontrunner. Fruit is less basic with an average value between -1 mEq/100 g and -5 mEq/100 g, but even jams still have a small negative value. With its PRAL value of -3.5 mEq/100 g, lemon is also a base forming agent.

Note: Almost all preserved foods, including fruit and vegetables, have a positive PRAL value and are therefore acidifiers.

Consequences of chronic hyperacidity:

The excess of acids in the organism is manifested by a number of atypical symptoms and is therefore difficult to diagnose.

It is characterized by general depression and persistent fatigue. Low stress thresholds and rapid irritability can also indicate hyperacidity.

Not infrequently the excess acid manifests itself in frequent gastrointestinal upsets. In addition, hair loss and brittle nails can be the consequences of chronic acidosis.

We expressly point out that the symptoms mentioned can also be attributed to causes other than hyperacidity. Therefore, have your doctor examine you in order to exclude other reasons for the mentioned symptoms!

The fight against hyperacidity: a change in diet and remineralisation

In the case of progressive hyperacidity, the function of the body's own buffer systems is disturbed. The acids produced in the course of food metabolism can no longer be neutralized effectively and in time.

Unfortunately, the nutrition of modern humans is far from being balanced. The acid formers dominate the diet. Meat and meat products, dairy products, even sweets replace the less calorie-rich and from the point of view of many people less tasty vegetables and fruit.

As an example: To neutralize the acid-forming potential of a marinated 250 g pork steak, over 400 g potato or 200 g potato and 100 g leafy vegetables must be eaten as a side dish. However, this balance is very rarely maintained.

The acid-base balance is out of balance and urgently needs to be restored.

Note: Restoring a healthy acid-base balance is by no means a matter of excluding the acid formers and making the body completely alkaline. Bases, or alkalis, are corrosive just like acids and can become highly dangerous for organic matter in high concentrations. Therefore, it is first and foremost a question of re-establishing the lost balance between bases and acids in the organism.

The way to a healthy acid-base balance leads through a) consistent change of diet with as high a proportion of leaf and other vegetables as possible, b) use of high-quality dietary supplements.

Base powder from Herba Sale- for a balanced acid-base balance and against hyperacidity

In the case of chronic hyperacidity, a change in diet is only of limited help. Such a change is quite costly and not everyone succeeds. It also takes several months for the acid-base balance to return to normal.

Note: Many naturopaths now point out that base fasting as a temporary renunciation of animal products does not lead to the desired result ? the restoration of the normal function of the acid-base balance. Conversely, the body reacts to the abrupt change with an increased release of acids. Thus, the desired positive effect is usually not achieved.
Herba Sale offers you a gentle and at the same time efficient method to successfully combat acidosis within a very short time. Our base powder brings the acid-base balance into balance and thus provides more vitality and a better attitude to life.

The base powder from Herba Sale offers you a balanced mineral and vitamin complex to effectively support the body's own buffer systems and to optimise the pH value in the organism again. The excess acids are neutralised or washed out of the body. The balance between the bases and acids is intact again. They feel full of energy and draw new strength.

Base powder composition:

Potassium washes out the excess acids and makes the body more alkaline. With the help of potassium, the body maintains optimal pH values. In addition, this mineral is crucial for cell communication due to the weak electrical signals.

Note: If you are taking diuretics (dehydrating drugs), consult your family doctor before treatment with the base powder!

Calcium influences the pH value of the blood and other body regions and must be supplied to the body daily. Last but not least, this mineral plays an important role in the development of the musculoskeletal system and in dental health.
Magnesium is enormously important for deacidification on the intracellular level. In addition, the trace element is of crucial importance for healthy muscle function and is involved in the formation of several proteins.
Silicon is not only important as a base, but also plays an important role in bone and cartilage formation.
Sodium is relevant for extracellular deacidification, this element also contributes to the optimisation of the body's own pH value.
Zinc is actively involved in the acid-base balance and is essential in the fight against hyperacidity. In addition, this trace element is of great importance for the healthy immune system and general well-being.
Vitamin D3 is often referred to as a "protective shield" of the body. This vital vitamin strengthens the body's own immune defence, is essential for healthy cardiovascular health and is even said to help prevent oncological diseases.
The base powder from Herba Sale is an all-round alkaline supply and the basis for several spa packages. The base powder tastes like fresh, sun-ripened orange ? You enjoy a delicious drink and at the same time make a valuable contribution to your health!
